Tomorrow is John's Birthday

Tomorrow, John will be six. He isn't a little guy anymore. I miss the little chubby guy, but am enjoying the tall, intelligent big boy he has become.
One of his new loves is chemistry. So, for his birthday, we have tried to come up with a little child-friendly-kitchen experiment chemistry kit. Should be loads of fun for him and lots of mess for me!!
Grandpa is right, John is a keeper!

Happy Birthday Adam!

Today, we celebrated Adam's 13th birthday with the last day of swimming lessons, lunch at the park with Daddy, movies and computer time at home, gourmet dinner,Bible time, game time, family walk, family reading and late-night time with his parents.

We gave him a birthday card with many verses for him (and us)to ponder for the coming year.

He is off tomorrow afternoon to St. Louis for two nights with his Daddy. They are going to have some special guy-time, looking over his verses, praying together and just enjoying each other.
We love you, Adam!!

Thirteen years ago, I was in a delivery room at Cox South, awaiting the birth of our first child.
We checked in around 6 p.m. and spent the evening watching the summer Olympics, held in Atlanta.
Little did I know then, how different my life would be in 13 short years.
On Sunday, I passed on some advice (to a very young mom with a three-week-old) that I have heard many, many times during these 13 years, from those ahead of me in the parenting journey:
"Enjoy them now, because before you know it, they will be grown."
She had just asked how old my Sweet P was, and I said 52 weeks. Hard to imagine.
And now, here I am, on the eve of the Big Guy's big day...676 weeks...and I can't believe it.
Some days seem to never end. Discipline issues, messes, etc. But the years have truly flown by. I wouldn't want to do any of those years over, except to fix my parenting mistakes. The Lord has been kind to me and has, just this year, made some changes in my heart, that I hope will bear fruit in the lives of my sweet children.

Vision Forum Contest

Well, this is my first post for the Heironimus Family website. Kyle has been asking me for some time to do so and finally I have overcome my inertia.
My motivation is a chance to win neat books and products from one of our favorite catalogs (VisionForum.com) Kyle didn't care why I posted, he was just happy I finally took the plunge!

Adam just entered a contest today to guess how many products Vision Forum would have in their new catalog. The closest guess receives a gift package worth over $700.

If we post about it on our blog, we are entered into a second drawing. Here is the link to the contest (it does end tomorrow).

inashoe.blogspot.com

I'll let you know if we win!

Moving

Monday, August 9. 2004 9:10 p.m.
Kyle has given me the task of journaling our move. I will begin at the beginning.

Wednesday August 4. Our realtor's assistant,Kathie, e-mailed us a house that I really liked in the afternoon and I asked if we could see it on Friday. She called and said that she would be out of town, but could show it to us that evening. We (Me and my four) loaded up and met Kyle in the Price Cutter parking lot and drove to the house. We met Kathie there at 6 p.m., left the older three in the van listening to a tape and toured the home with John. I loved it immediately. It is not my dream house, but it is too, if that makes any sense. It just felt like home. It was clean, well cared for and very interesting.
